Background: India-Pakistan Conflict
Operation Sindoor marks another milestone in India’s response to decades of state-sponsored terror from across the border. Since 1947, the two nations have fought four wars and endured numerous border skirmishes. In recent years, India has adopted a proactive counter-terror policy, including surgical strikes (2016) and the Balakot air strikes (2019).
After starting Operation Sindoor, India has reiterated its zero-tolerance stance on terrorism and its willingness to act decisively against hostile threats.
